Action Shots

It is a very clever person to take the good action shot, because he needs experience to know where the action is going to happen next. The shutter speed should be put at 1/640, especially if you are taking shots of something that is moving very fast like a tornado or something running.

The white balance should be set to indoors. The Teleconvertor and your zoom lens should be set at x 1.4 or x 1.5. x 2 does not work if there is plenty of quick action going on. The ISO level has to be raised to anywhere between 400 and 800, which will mean that the grain is minimal and the shutter speed is faster.

One has to use his experience as well as his instinct to anticipate what is going to happen next, and that is why the camera has to be swung to that place. A faster shutter action is going to capture everything quite soon. If you have burst mode, take some quick shots. If you need some more light, open up the aperture more than 2.8, if it is possible. Follow the path of a moving object, and everything that comes in its way because that makes for some really good and unexpected photographs.

If there is an accident or crash, make sure that you do not interfere with the rescue work. Photojournalism and sensationalism is all very well, but if it interferes with the safety of suffering human lives, a sort of professionalism, which is cold-blooded callousness and insensitivity.
